Spear’s Review
King’s College Soto is a co-educational British day and boarding school in Soto de Viñuelas, just north of Madrid. The education programme is based on the UK curriculum, and students can choose between taking A-Levels or the IBDP. Increasingly, King’s has been recognised for exam scores that outperform those of some of the UK’s top private schools.
However, the student experience is not purely academic. Children who attend the school are encouraged to participate in a wide range of extracurriculars, from music lessons to elite sports.
The school’s grounds boast premium indoor and outdoor facilities on an extensive 12-acre site, including tennis courts, football pitches, two multimedia centres, an art studio and a horse riding centre.
Academics
In 2025:
- 63 per cent of IGCSE results were grades 7-9
- 45 per cent of A-Level results were A* or A
- Average IB score was 35.5

Admissions
Candidates submit an enquiry form to begin the admissions process. They then receive an invitation to visit the campus and attend interviews, and complete a full application form with the child’s academic record and references. The last step of the process involves an entry assessment, which can range from simple literacy and numeracy tasks for Year 1 applicants to more complex written assessments and further interviews for older applicants.
