Spear’s Review

Founded in 1885 with the express purpose of providing girls with an education on equal footing with the boys’ schools, Roedean has been instilling students with confidence and an inclusive spirit ever since.

In a beautiful coastal location just outside Brighton, the school is home to over 600 girls, almost half of whom are full boarders. This is a school where girls can make some noise, take up space, explore and make decisions for themselves.

Appreciation of sport, culture, the arts and the opportunity to live a healthy life to the full are the foundations on which the school was built, and quite rightly it sees no reason to give them up.

Academics

In 2025:

  • 76 per cent of GCSE results were grades 7-9
