Spear’s Review
Founded by Canada-born architect Alison Brooks in 1996, Alison Brooks Architects has won acclaim for its large-scale masterplans and mixed-use developments, higher education buildings, private houses and public buildings, gaining a reputation around the world for its innovative designs.
The firm says its work demonstrates a ‘commitment to generous, inclusive city-building, supported by a uniquely sculptural design language’.
Alison Brooks Architects has won all three RIBA awards: it won the RIBA Stephen Lawrence Prize in 2006 for The Wrap House, a ribbon-like extension to a private home in London; the RIBA Manser Medal in 2014 for the Lens House, an architecturally adventurous restoration of a Victorian house; and the RIBA Stirling Prize in 2008 for the Accordia high-density residential scheme in Cambridge.
