Founded in 2002, The Thinking Traveller initially focused on offering high-quality villa experiences in Sicily. It has since expanded to Puglia, Tuscany, Sardinia, Corsica, mainland Greece and a number of Greek islands.

The result, according to Rossella Beaugié, co-founder of the firm, is ‘a niche collection of soulful villas’ offered on an entirely exclusive basis, meaning that the villas available are only for their clients’ use and nobody else’s. ‘We keep the operation small, so that we can maintain the quality,’ Beaugié tells Spear’s, adding that each property is curated down to the linens used and the private chefs employed.

The Thinking Traveller team’s intimate knowledge of each region and its exceptional level of service are reasons why clients come back year after year – sometimes spending over £125,000 per week. ‘We take the risk away,’ says Beaugié.
