Mark’s Club was founded by Mark Birley in 1972 and has attracted illustrious names ever since. Princess Michael of Kent, to name but one, has been a longtime regular at its tables.

In recent years, the club has seen everything from the launch of Vivienne Westwood’s autobiography to a celebratory post-election dinner organised by then-prime minister David Cameron. In late 2024, the club reopened to much fanfare after a period of closure for refurbishment – refreshed but maintaining its quintessentially British aesthetic.
