Spear’s Review
Claridge’s Spa opened underneath the beloved Brook Street hotel in 2022. With a focus on healing and restoration, the spa features a fitness studio, steam rooms, saunas, a number of treatment rooms and a salon with celebrity stylist Josh Wood in residence.
Interior architect André Fu took inspiration from the traditional temples and zen gardens in Kyoto, Japan, using natural stone, bamboo and wood finishings to transform the space into an enchanting subterranean haven.
There are seven treatment rooms at Claridge’s Spa, and services include facials, massages and full-body treatments, including a hammam, which was added to the repertoire in 2024 after the opening of ‘The Pink Room’. This room, experienced by Spear’s, features a private scented steam room and is lit with flickering candles reflected in a quartz and glass-bead floor. Guests are given a refreshing spiced mocktail to sip before the full-body, head and face ritual begins. A traditional Moroccan hammam is performed on a heated pink onyx bed in the centre of the room, incorporating British-made products in green, peppery and woody fragrances.
Guests are also invited to stay and enjoy the pool, steam room and sauna facilities. The wide, colonnaded, electrolyte-infused pool is accessible from both treatment corridors. Along the lantern-lit walls, there is a selection of detoxifying waters to sample before heading into the heated changing rooms to shower and resurface fully refreshed.
