In 1997, the company set up a Special Casework unit, a 'firm within the firm' structured to deal with the particular needs of HNWI's or high-profile clients facing the rigours of a criminal allegation. Consequently every client is provided with their own pre designed team set up to deal with their particular case needs. The department handles a diverse mix of clients. In the past, partners have represented: a banker with US political exposure being investigated for fraud, two separate UK clients being investigated by the SFO for corruption in the DRC and Sierra Leone, while at the other end of the spectrum defending in high profile cases such as the Sarah Everard murder and the acquittal of a former premiership footballer.
