A regular haunt for celebrities, MPs and members of the royal family, Oswald’s is one of Mayfair’s newer private members’ clubs. Opened in 2018 by the founder of 5 Hertford Street, Robin Birley, the club is renowned for its discretion and privacy. 

With no presence on social media and scant information on its website, Oswald’s caters to some very high-profile clients who are looking for exclusivity far from the public eye. On the eve of King Charles’ coronation, members of the royal family – including Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Zara and Mike Tindall, Prince Andrew and Princess Anne – assembled for celebrations at the vaunted club. 

The club is especially known for its facilities for discerning oenophiles; connoisseurs can keep their wine in the club’s cellar or, alternatively, buy top-shelf wine and spirits from its fully equipped bar.
