According to Birketts, family law partner Tom Quinn’s ‘focus is always to try to conclude matters promptly and with the minimum of cost and acrimony’. Quinn, who joined the firm in early 2022 and now heads up its London family department, advises on matters relating to the dissolution of a marriage or civil partnership, including financial and children matters.

His experience in managing cases involving HNW and UHNW clients began in 2011 at Payne Hicks Beach, where he served as an associate solicitor and worked in close contact with esteemed family lawyer Fiona Shackleton. He then joined Vardags in 2019 as a director, where he settled complex financial disputes, resolved issues relating to jurisdiction and drafted pre- and post-nuptial agreements. 

Reported cases include ST v TC [2022]; MCJ v MAJ [2016], which concerned the treatment of non-matrimonial property; R (Cart) v Upper Tribunal [2010]; and CMEC v Mitchell [2010].
