Aviation lawyer Robert Fugard is partner and head of the asset finance team at Hogan Lovells.

Having been in the aviation industry for more than 30 years, Fugard uses his extensive experience to advise on matters relating to commercial and corporate aviation. He advises on complex cross-border financing, looking after airlines, banks, leasing companies and UHNW individuals on acquisitions, disposals and other financing matters. 

While many of Fugard’s clients are corporate entities, UHNW clients and prominent individuals also make up a large proportion of his client base. ‘We have a very broad knowledge of the industry. We have done pretty much every version of every deal that you can do in the space,’ Fugard says, meaning that private clients are in safe hands. This knowledge also includes Islamic financing, which Fugard has undertaken for private aircraft.
