Richard Ellison set up his online-only merchant Wanderlust Wine after 10 years in finance with the aim of offering top-tier wines from lesser-known producers.

The focus is on sustainability: all wines offered on the site are organic. The remit includes natural and biodynamic wines, which are made using minimal machinery, intervention and chemicals.

Ellison notes that ‘provenance in food and wine is increasingly important. People are much more passionate about it and interested to explore.’ Wanderlust’s wines are sourced directly from producers to ensure a fair price is reached, with vineyards getting well rewarded for their skill and care, and the buyer getting value for money at all price points.

The company also provides private client wine services and a curated wine club, and will deliver wines to your door within hours of purchase.
