Nancy Curtin

Spear’s Review

Nancy Curtin joined Alvarium, now called AlTi, in 2020, having previously been chief investment officer of Close Brothers, the London-based wealth manager and specialist merchant bank.

Prior to that, the Princeton and Harvard Business School graduate held senior roles at the hedge fund Fortune Asset Management as well as Internet Finance Partners, a specialist venture capital business. She said she has also ‘built private equity businesses’ in Russia and Germany in previous roles at Schroders and Barings. It is this varied background, she explained, that has given her a wealth of experience in working with almost every asset class.

As well as market knowledge, Curtin emphasised the need to understand the ‘emotional centre’ of her clients. ‘It helps give them that confidence that you’re the person they can turn to when they have any kind of wealth structuring or wealth investment need.’

Adviser Profile

Nancy Curtin is AlTi’s Chief Investment Officer.

Nancy has held Head of Investments and Chief Investment Officer roles working across both traditional and alternative asset classes at multiple firms since 2002. She held the position for eight years at Fortune Asset Management, then for another 10 at Close Brothers Asset Management after it acquired the previous firm. She served in that role at Alvarium Investments from 2020 until it merged to create AlTi.

AlTi is a global wealth and asset manager, in the business of turning powerful ideas into high-performing strategies and solutions. AlTi offers a connected ecosystem of advice, solutions and investment opportunities from across a global network.
