Spear’s Review
Before working in Westminster and Whitehall, Leon Emirali co-founded a PR agency that propelled him onto PR Week’s ‘30 Under 30’ list.
Since then, he says, he’s ‘had the privilege of being part of some of the most consequential moments of the last decade’. These have ranged from the sublime (coordinating the media in attendance at the royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex), to the ridiculous (encouraging then prime minister Theresa May to dance to Abba on stage at the Tory party conference in 2018).
Now he runs a consultancy, advising a selection of cross-party politicians and business leaders. Emirali’s approach involves liaising with journalists and generating content in order to steer the reputations of his clients. He tells Spear’s, ‘Especially in the tech world, they talk to investors who google them after the meeting, and if there’s nothing there, it’s a red flag.’
Emirali is also a political commentator for BBC News and other outlets, and a frequent contributor to newspapers such as the Times and the Telegraph.
