‘Simplicity in architecture and design’ is John Pawson CBE’s motto, and he delivers on it. The esteemed architectural designer has specialised in creating discerning clients’ unique private homes for over 40 years.

Pawson is known for his minimalist aesthetic; his portfolio is brimming with clean lines, and pristine white is the colour of choice. But this does not indicate a lack of diversity: his Paros houses, for example, are endlessly inventive, while still being fitting additions to the parched Grecian landscape.

His firm commissions projects internationally, from the Japanese island of Okinawa to Montauk in the US, and each design is carried through with the same meticulous sense of space and light. His work on the Armonia Apartments in Athens exhibits a particularly strong sense of place.
