Spear’s Review

Emily Kapoor was identified by Spear’s as a ‘Rising Star’ in 2014, when she was a senior associate at Withers, and she has been in the ascendant ever since. She left Schillings with Davina Katz and David Greer to become a founding partner of Katz Partners in 2019.

Now a leading divorce lawyer, she specialises in cases with high-value financial claims, complex wealth structures including offshore assets, trusts and family businesses, and children law including international relocation.

‘I provide innovative and constructive advice which is critical to avoid cases being led by the process rather than the outcome,’ Kapoor says. ‘I focus on formulating strategies to achieve the client’s objectives, delivering tailored outcomes swiftly and effectively.’ She believes firmly in a collaborative and solution-driven approach to divorce, and says she always strives to achieve this for her clients.

Adviser Profile

Emily Kapoor spent a decade in Withers’ family department before moving to Schillings in 2016, to work with Davina Katz. In 2019 she became a founding partner of Katz Partners, specialising in private family law issues with a focus on high-value and complex financial cases upon divorce. The team have won a number of groundbreaking cases, some of which have established new law.

Kapoor has extensive experience across the spectrum of family law (with a focus on claims involving sophisticated asset structures), including significant cases involving trusts, inherited wealth, offshore assets and family businesses. She also advises on all areas of private children law, including applications for injunctive relief and applications to relocate internationally.
