David Mikhail, a founding director of Mikhail Riches, designs residential buildings for private clients and large-scale developers, with a focus on sustainability, environmental awareness and social responsibility. 

His work includes Park Hill in Sheffield, the largest Grade II-listed structure in Europe; postgraduate accommodation for Queens’ College, Cambridge; and the RIBA Stirling Prize-winning Goldsmith Street homes in Norwich.

Before merging with business partner Annalie Riches, Mikhail ran his own successful practice, specialising in the design and manufacture of one-off homes for private clients. During this time, he became known for his development of the ‘Passivhaus’ concept in the UK – a German design style that creates low-energy homes.
