Clive Hopewell is a highly experienced partner at Bird & Bird, where he heads up the firm’s international capital markets practice. 

Prior to joining Bird & Bird in 2017, he spent more than two decades at Charles Russell (now Charles Russell Speechlys), where he focused on helping entrepreneurial clients grow their businesses. 

Hopewell is an expert when it comes to advising international business ventures, particularly those planning to acquire, merge, list or raise funds on capital markets. He also advises private equity principals on multi-jurisdictional investments and has worked in the Gulf with ‘large ruling families’, as well as in other emerging markets.

He recently told Spear’s that he enjoys the international dimension of his work and that he travels regularly to the Middle East and Africa.
