Chris Ivey

Spear’s Review

Heading up Cambridge Associates’ well-regarded European private client team, Chris Ivey oversees investments on behalf of families with institutional-scale assets in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

The firm provides global investment management on a discretionary and non-discretionary basis. It has no pooled funds or model portfolios, instead creating each portfolio in a bottom-up fashion to meet client mandates. The firm’s independence allows Ivey to view the investment horizon ‘without any conflicts of interest’, he said.

A former lawyer at Magic Circle firm Linklaters, Ivey said the legal sphere ultimately wasn’t for him, but it did provide ‘a strong foundation for being very client-focused’.

Adviser Profile

Chris Ivey leads the European family office practice at Cambridge Associates, where he works directly with family clients in both discretionary and advisory capacities. Ivey aims to build bespoke portfolios that generate strong long-term, risk-adjusted returns; allowing clients to meet and exceed their investment objectives.

‘We are an independent, privately owned firm,’ says Ivey. ‘When we invest our client’s assets, we sit on their side of the table and view the investment world through a lens that best suits them. The core value at our firm is “Clients First”.’

Ivey leads a team of like-minded investors who endeavour to be the trusted investment advisors to private investors around the world.
