Martyn Hodges is a partner at Diligence, a corporate intelligence company that advises on harassment, defamation and other threats; asset tracing and recovery; due diligence; and a range of business and personal disputes.
Following a career in the Royal Marines and private security, Hodges is now focused on investigative and intelligence work, providing litigation support for international clients across a range of industries.
‘Our value add as a company is that we push the envelope in terms of our field work,’ he explains. ‘We really get out there, on the ground, talking to people.’
He is frequently engaged by legal firms in complex, high-value fraud and other white-collar crime investigations, with some of these cases having appeared in the High Court.
Diligence also works with family offices, providing support on reputation protection matters.

Martyn has over 15 years’ experience of advising clients involved in high-stakes and high-value disputes. He has spent the last 10 years involved in some of the most complex and high-value fraud and asset recovery cases to be heard in the UK courts.
Martyn is skilled in developing investigations from an early stage, is highly experienced in collecting information using a range of different methods and has travelled globally to gather evidence in support of litigation proceedings.
Prior to joining Diligence, Martyn was director of risk and security at Hermitage Capital Management. He was a previously an operations manager for Aegis Defence Services in the Middle East and had an early career in the Royal Marines.
