June Venters KC
Spear’s Review
In 2006, June Venters KC was the first woman solicitor to be appointed Queen’s Counsel – a status typically reserved for barristers.
Now dual-qualified (she was called to the Bar in 2017), Venters practices in public and private children law. She has her own firm, Venters Solicitors, and takes instruction at 3PB.
Her cases often involve child protection, international relocation and abduction matters; very serious allegations and wrongdoing to children; and parental alienation or coercive and controlling behaviour.
Due to the nature of her work, Venters, who is a Resolution-accredited specialist in international child abduction and domestic abuse and children’s advocacy, emphasises the importance of communicating with clients in a way that makes them feel comfortable. ‘Ultimately, we have to work as a partnership, and you have to have confidence in me,’ she tells Spear’s.
