Lindsay Cuthill

Spear’s Review

Lindsay Cuthill spent 26 years at Savills – as a director and later head of its country house department – before he decided to found Blue Book.

His agency specialises in historic houses across the western UK, and draws upon Cuthill’s 40-plus years of experience in the country property market. In 2025, Blue Book’s average sale price was over £3 million, Cuthill reports. ‘Across the board, whether it’s town or country, [the property] has to have a feel. We like to think that they are curated.’

Many of Blue Book’s clients have been stewards of properties for multiple generations, and so a selling agent must have a high level of service and enthusiasm, Cuthill explains. ‘Our approach is to give the very best advice we can, which may not always be the most flattering advice. We’re there to deliver it respectfully.’
