Jensen Huang
Spear’s Review
If you want the definition of a wealth creator, look no further than Jensen Huang. The leather jacket-wearing, Taiwan-born co-founder and CEO of chipmaker Nvidia revved up the company’s share price by an astonishing 5,145 per cent between February 2019 and October 2025. In the process, Huang, who launched the company in 1993 at the age of 30, increased its market cap from around $95 billion to some $4.4 trillion, helping to mint countless millionaires along the way.
A 2025 report found that about 80 per cent of the firm’s employees are now millionaires, with almost half the workforce worth more than $25 million. He’s been a hit with outside investors too, becoming a cult figure among many of the retail traders and finance bros who have piled into the stock over the past few years.
Back in the Nineties, Huang fended off the threat of bankruptcy, but Nvidia’s biggest challenge may be yet to come. Its $100 billion investment in OpenAI – which has, in turn, agreed to buy Nvidia chips – has been much scrutinised. As warnings of an AI bubble grow louder, Huang will hope that his company’s meteoric rise doesn’t end with a precipitous return to earth.
