Warren Stephens, the 68th US ambassador to the UK, will no doubt look to maintain the ‘special relationship’ between the two countries, serving as US President Donald Trump’s eyes and ears in the UK.

A native of the US state of Arkansas, Stephens is former president and CEO and current chairman of family-owned investment bank Stephens Inc, which notably navigated the 2008 financial crisis without a government rescue, and which has contributed to Stephens’ net worth of $3.5 billion, per Forbes’ figures.

Stephens has embedded himself in UK life since assuming the ambassadorship at the start of 2025, taking up residence in a ‘palatial’ home in Regent’s Park (which houses a blue-chip art collection), and glad-handing key players such as Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Rachel Reeves (who he sat next to at the banquet marking Trump’s 2025 state visit).
