Spear’s Review

Éric Martel is business jet giant Bombardier’s president and CEO.

Martel is a consistent high-flier at the manufacturer, having held leadership positions such as as vice president and general manager in numerous arms of the business. Following a stint as president and CEO at Hydro-Quebec from 2015, he returned to Bombardier in 2020 to lead from the front.

In his almost five years in the position, he has been ‘a driving force’ behind Bombardier’s realignment as a company specialising purely in business aviation. Bombardier is the second-largest business jet manufacturer, with total revenues of $8.7 billion at end-2024. With $11.2 billion in total revenue, Gulfstream still retains pole position, but nobody can deny that Bombardier is soaring with Martel in the cockpit.
