Richard Cullum is the head of BE Education’s UK office. After two decades in the teaching and guardianship sectors, he now advises families on student placement, helping pupils to get into the UK’s most prestigious schools, including Eton, Harrow and Wycombe Abbey.

Cullum works closely with his clients, who often relocate from countries across the world; BE Education is the only company to offer a summer course at Eton College exclusively for Chinese students under the tutelage of Eton college staff.

He then ‘effectively acts as an extra parent’, he tells Spear’s. This can include visiting the school with the family, regularly checking on the student once they attend, going to parent evenings and assisting with relocation matters. ‘I see education very much as a journey that I go on, side-by-side with a family,’ he says.
