Charlie Fowler, a partner at Collyer Bristow, is a specialist in immigration and tax law, particularly where the two intersect. 

His advice ranges from pre-arrival planning to setting up international investment structures, and he works with both inward and outward clients to the UK. 

‘It’s fairly unusual for people to do both, but it is really helpful,’ he tells Spear’s. ‘It means that I can make sure clients are getting the right advice at the right time.’

Fowler has been taking an active approach in response to possible changes to inheritance and business tax: ‘We’re saying to people: “This is what is happening and what might happen if you do nothing or if you choose to act.” Because really it’s about trying to work out what is best for them and be on the front foot.’
