Mark Florman
Spear's Review
‘We advise families, single-family and multi-family offices and wealth managers across the world on how to build private market portfolios,’ says Mark Florman, CEO of Time Partners.
‘All of us who work here have lived and breathed private equity,’ he says. Each client is assigned a representative who then carries out regular portfolio reviews, ensuring that investments align with the client’s financial and business wishes.
‘Due diligence [of general partners and their funds] is extremely complicated and much misunderstood,’ Florman tells Spear’s, and Time Partners takes steps to research and analyse any potential investment. ‘We meet with managers directly and privately, talking to them about their plans for the future, ownership and carried interests. We assess the strength of their team and meet all the staff, touring the offices.’
Florman, who entered the world of private markets in 2001 as a managing director at Doughty Hanson, founded several impact investing and venture capital businesses before starting Time Partners in 2013.
