Roughly 95 per cent of his policies target inheritance tax (IHT) exposure, an urgent issue as UHNW families brace for fresh tax rules. ‘Life insurance can be used as a true liquidity tool,’ he tells Spear’s.

A chartered wealth manager, Maxwell says this experience gives him a thorough understanding of the issues that are most relevant to his clientele. He works hand‑in‑hand with tax and financial planners, integrating life insurance into wider estate planning strategies. Every case is pre‑underwritten in‑house, Maxwell adds, so clients are presented to insurers ‘in the best light’, to manage the process more effectively.
