Daniel Twomey, chief operating officer at La Vida Golden Visas, acknowledges that citizenship by investment is ‘a relatively new concept’ for many. However, he reassures clients that he will personally guide them ‘through every step of the process, from beginning to end’.

The firm, which Twomey describes as ‘truly international’, can advise on all of the different residency and citizenship programmes available across the world and has worked with clients from 150 countries.

Twomey’s largest client base is US citizens looking for a ‘plan B’ in a different part of the world. ‘The majority of clients are not doing this with the express intent of relocating to the country; rather, they want the option to be able to live anywhere in Europe should they ever want to,’ he tells Spear’s.
