Ashling Cashmore was initially attracted to the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) because of its focus on delivering an end-to-end service.

Now head of impact and advisory, Cashmore advises clients on structuring their philanthropic giving plan, and then realising that plan through CAF’s infrastructure, whether that’s with a donor advised fund, through grant-making or by providing capital for charities to loan via a social investment fund.

While a number of her clients are individuals and families, she also advises social enterprises and charities, which she says is useful in informing the giving strategies of private clients. ‘We have a really keen and deep understanding of the needs of the sector, and we bring that [understanding] to donors,’ Cashmore tells Spear’s.
