Steve Wilson, founder of LiNGER, has been curating bespoke travel itineraries for UHNWs seeking unique adventures since 2018.

With a specialism in long-duration sabbatical trips, Wilson arranges transformative journeys for senior C-suite members and high-profile individuals looking to take some time away from the corporate world due to burnout, or simply to embrace a change of pace.

LiNGER’s trips span the globe, from rafting through Andean mountain gorges and trekking deep into the Amazon to spotting leopards in Sri Lanka’s Yala National Park – always with time built in to refresh and recharge. 

Wilson says sabbatical trips are often eight weeks minimum and can last up to a year, which means they require meticulous planning, but also offer the opportunity to have authentic experiences. ‘It’s the unknown gems that we bring to the forefront, because you’ve got that time to get there.’

I left a career in banking to pursue my true passion – travel. My role as a travel adviser with some of the most respected names in the industry took me around the globe. I worked in North and South America, and journeyed extensively across Asia, Africa and Latin America to research destinations, properties and experiences. This in-depth knowledge formed the basis of my specialism in designing longer, immersive journeys for discerning clients, ensuring seamless logistics in places where travel isn’t always straightforward.

I founded LiNGER Travel in 2019 to specialise in sabbaticals and extended experiential travel. The journeys I craft are adventurous yet refined, taking clients beyond the obvious while maintaining a level of comfort and refinement that feels effortless. My approach is deeply personalised. I get to know my clients well, tailoring every aspect of their travels, from transformative experiences that expand their horizons to the smallest, most thoughtful touches that resonate on a personal and familiar level.

Examples of the kinds of trips I plan include a year-long adventure across three continents for a family with young children, a month-long sabbatical through Central America for a family with teenagers, and a bespoke series of solo adventures spanning hot air ballooning over the Serengeti to trekking to the source of the Amazon in Peru.

For our clients who require additional security or discretion, I collaborate closely with protection staff, conduct advance reconnaissance and ensure every logistical detail is handled with the highest level of care.
