Karen Howes is the founder and CEO of interior design studio Taylor Howes.
‘Actually, I call myself editor-in-chief,’ says Howes, who explains that the title reflects her creative involvement and collaboration with her team, which has grown to 40 members since the firm’s launch over 30 years ago.
While Howes has no specific style, she tells Spear’s that in all of her projects ‘there’s always a balance and a harmony’. She has designed for many high-profile clients around the world, bringing her creative touch to family homes in Grosvenor Square, The OWO Residences by Raffles and the Bryanston, as well as to projects in Dublin, Kuwait and Athens, and to superyachts.
Taylor Howes delivers spaces that ‘don’t just look spectacular but also function brilliantly on a day-to-day level’, she says. ‘We want people to walk in their front door and take a deep breath and feel calm and peaceful.’
