Spear’s Review

Known by some as the ‘Hogwarts of the Middle East’ with its towering turrets and bricked archways, Repton School Dubai is one of the region’s leading schools, attracting children of UHNWs, celebrities, prominent figures and Middle Eastern royalty.

Maintaining its close links with its sister school Repton UK, it offers a UK curriculum with GCSEs and A-Levels. Students also have the option of opting for the IB diploma programme. While academically intensive, 100 per cent of pupils at Repton Dubai pass the IB programme, and in 2024, 14 per cent of the graduating class achieved 40 points or more.

Alumni have continued on their education at leading universities including Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, St Andrews, Stanford and Columbia.

Academics

55 per cent of GCSE results are grades 7–9.

12 per cent of results at A-Level are A* or A.

Average IB score is 36.0.

University and college destinations

Repton School Dubai's students have consistently gained admission to prestigious universities worldwide. In 2024, notable destinations included University College London (UCL), St Andrews, the University of Edinburgh, Durham University, and Boston University.

Head teacher

Gillian Hammond joined Repton Dubai in 2018 and serves as the school’s principal. She is also chief education officer of Excella, an international education consultancy focused on leadership, curriculum development and school improvement. Before relocating to the UAE, she held leadership positions in England and guided schools through significant change management and improvement initiatives.

Admissions

Repton School Dubai's admissions process is designed to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each prospective student. It begins with the submission of an online application form, where parents provide essential details about their child. Following this, the school requires previous school reports to assess academic history and personal information. An age-appropriate assessment is then conducted to evaluate the child's academic abilities and social competencies. For international applicants unable to attend in person, remote assessments can be arranged.
