Truly an international and inclusive school, EF Academy New York welcomes students from over 60 nationalities. The 97-acre campus is located in Westchester County – just outside New York City – and follows the US curriculum, with students given the option to pursue the IB as well.

Lessons often take a hands-on approach: from science lessons in the pond to acting out an English text in the specially designed theatre, students are encouraged to grow within their own creativity and individuality.

EF’s unique ‘Learning and Knowledge Programme’ teaches a variety of academic philosophy and learning styles to help students learn different methods of thinking. With sister campuses in Oxford in the UK, and Pasadena in the US state of California, EF Academy’s students are an active part of a wider scholastic community and embedded in an institution built on the principle of diversity.

Head teacher

Dr Vladimir Kuskovski has been head of school at EF Academy New York since 2019. He has more than three decades of experience in education, teaching multiple subjects, serving in various leadership roles and working extensively with IB programmes. He has bachelor’s degrees in English and German from Minsk Linguistics University, a master’s in political science from Manchester University, a specialist degree in curriculum and instruction from St Mary’s University and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Minnesota and Capella University. 

Admissions 

The admissions process for EF Academy New York consists of four steps: an enquiry form, an English test, an online application and a formal interview.
