Alistair Kellie was part of the team that founded Newgate Communications in 2011, which later become SEC Newgate. ‘We saw that the world was moving in a slightly different direction – we wanted to set up a more integrated, holistic communications advisory firm,’ he tells Spear’s.

Now as head of the 70-strong communications practice in the UK, Kellie oversees a practice spanning crisis, litigation, financial advisory and corporate communications. He advises a wide range of clients, from start-ups, high-profile individuals and family businesses to multinationals and government departments, both in the UK and internationally.

‘I work intimately with clients on a day-to-day basis, providing both direct and indirect advice,’ he says. Kellie emphasises longevity in relationships, adding: ‘Communications should be underpinned by trust; you have to be authentic in your tone of voice.’
