Farrant Group managing director Anthony Simon helps to ‘defend and enhance’ the reputations of governments, major corporate entities and high-profile private clients. 

‘The broader and deeper experience we have in different areas is incredibly helpful for everyone,’ he says. ‘Quite often, the response that’s required does need that holistic viewpoint.’ In one such example, Simon led Farrant Group’s communications team to support the Nigerian government in ‘successfully setting aside a $11 billion arbitral award’.

He tells Spear’s that around 60 per cent of his work involves strategy and future planning, while the other 40 per cent is more reactive, and that Farrant is increasingly operating in ‘groundbreaking’ areas such as fintech, technology, cryptocurrency and gaming.

Simon is the former head of digital communication for David Cameron’s government, and a former partner in Portland’s international communications practice. Before joining Farrant in 2021, he oversaw the governmental crisis communications response to the Covid pandemic, ‘as well as strategic planning for a successful and sustained recovery’.
