Touted as a ‘revolutionary step in property fundraising’ at its launch in 2013, LendInvest reports that it has turned a profit every year since 2015 and surpassed £5 billion in funds under management in January 2025. 

Rod Lockhart joined the firm in 2015 to lead its capital markets and fund management division, and became CEO in 2020. A chartered surveyor with a wealth of experience in property and property finance, he was previously a senior director at CBRE. 

LendInvest was spun out of short-term lender Montello Bridging Finance when founding CEO Christian Faes – who has since taken on a non-executive chair role – and chief investment officer Ian Thomas saw an opportunity to improve customer service and efficiency by taking their processes online. The firm now has backing from global institutions including JP Morgan, HSBC and Barclays, and achieved a new annual lending record of £1.168 billion in 2024.
