James Horniman

A partner at James Hambro since 2013, James Horniman has been in asset management for over a quarter of a century, having previously worked for UBS and HSBC.

Horniman manages portfolios for entrepreneurial clients as well as those engaged in professional services, predominantly on a discretionary basis. While typically seeing clients twice a year, Horniman keeps his approach ‘straightforward and transparent’ so that his clients can get on with their lives.

‘As an independent partnership, we are in a good position to look after clients and to help them realise that they are most important,’ he tells Spear’s. Keeping things simple, he says, helps clients understand their investments and what they are trying to achieve, and ensures that ‘they can sleep at night’.
