Before working in Westminster and Whitehall, Leon Emirali co-founded an agency that propelled him onto PR Week’s ‘30 Under 30’ list. As part of his most recent venture, reputation consultancy Darwinism, he advises a selection of cross-party politicians and business leaders on media and messaging.

Emirali’s work varies from client to client. Whether it is somebody at the peak of a high-profile career wanting to mitigate controversy, or a recent retiree who is focused on legacy building, Emirali says, ‘It’s very individual.’

The small size of the team at Darwinism allows the firm to have a good grasp on the lives and work of their clients, Emirali emphasises.

‘My line of work requires a level of nimbleness and discreteness, which can be lost in some larger corporations,’ he tells Spear’s.

When not shaping the reputations of his clients, Emirali is also a political commentator for BBC News and other outlets, and a frequent contributor to newspapers such as the Times and the Telegraph.
