Fisher German partner Matthew Allen tells Spear’s that his country team has ‘shattered the dominance of the so-called national agents’ in the Cotswolds and surrounding areas.

Indeed, Allen’s team has continued to grow its influence in his 20-plus years at the company, becoming a key player in the sale of country houses and landed estates across the UK. Primarily acting for families and private individuals, Allen’s clients often own property that has been in their family for generations.

He stresses the importance of undertaking the necessary due diligence in preparing a home for sale while also understanding his clients’ emotional attachment to the property. ‘We are helping them buy and secure the next destination in their life, really, and ease that process through … we’re offering to help people,’ he explains.

While based in Banbury, his role is national, with access to a network of offices across the UK.
