Rory Lynch, a partner and head of reputation at Gateley Legal, joined the firm in 2021 after a stint in Vardags’ reputation and privacy team.

He specialises in media litigation, with a particular emphasis on reputation management and protection, libel and defamation, and privacy, and aims to safeguard clients’ reputations and privacy from the forces of social media, the internet and the press.

Lynch says he once succeeded in stopping an online harassment campaign through direct pressure on Silicon Valley social media bosses, and has acted for Money Saving Expert’s Martin Lewis in what he describes as a ‘groundbreaking multi-million pound defamation settlement’ with Facebook.

Other clients include well-known politicians, musicians, sportspeople, actors and television personalities, as well as high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, including royals and those from the international business community.
