Simon Rowell is the creative director of Bannenberg & Rowell, a company that has forged a formidable reputation in yacht design. Rowell began his career in the hospitality space, but more than 20 years ago he took a leap of faith into the unknown waters of yacht design – and never looked back.

For Rowell, there are three key factors to focus on when designing yacht interiors and exteriors: the visual appeal, functionality and safety within the onboard environment, and the overall quality of the final product.

His designs, described by a client as ‘shockingly beautiful’, are elegant, innovative and original. He is also gradually building a niche for artisan and crafted pieces that are usually the preserve of the most daring clients.
