Spear’s Review
Since joining Wedlake Bell in 1999 and becoming partner in 2009, Tom Allfree has developed a wide client base in commercial and residential property deals.
Allfree has led the residential team since 2013, acting for a variety of UK and international clients on a wide range of property matters. Clients include wealthy individuals, developers, landlords and investors buying and selling London homes, as well as established estates buying and selling agricultural land, and he advises as much on legal issues around property as he does on transactions. He said, 'have properties in various jurisdictions and areas and need someone to manage their affairs, deal with succession, and I'm there as the touch point.'
Having run the property desk at Wedlake Bell for ten years, Allfree is now moving onto the board of the company's private client group, making the most of his single point of contact status.
Adviser Profile
Tom Allfree's practice covers all aspects of residential conveyancing, acting for UK and overseas individuals, estates, companies, banks and funds advising on disposals and acquisitions of freehold and leasehold properties as well as general landlord and tenant issues.
He qualified as a solicitor and joined Wedlake Bell in 1999 and became a partner in 2009. He has headed up the Residential Property team since 2013.
Allfree aims to be the trusted advisor to his clients. In the prime property world, opportunities to acquire exceptional properties do not come along often, and it is important to work closely with clients and their other advisors to 'do what needs to be done' to secure the property, often within extremely tight timescales.
Recent experience: sale and acquisition of high value central London properties; purchase of an apartment in central London in excess of £50M; structuring the sale of residential units in a large development in Greenwich; purchase of a 400-acre farm; purchase of a grouse moor; selling portfolios of properties for LPA Receivers.
