Spear’s Review

Tom Kain, who joined Black Brick in 2013, advises private clients on purchases in and around central London. Promoted to partner in 2024, Kain tells Spear’s: ‘I’m looking forward to bringing my own ideas and identity into the business.’

Along with a personable approach, Kain offers a breadth of knowledge of the London market across all postcodes and price brackets. He argues that given the increased number of property agents operating in London, the demand for a buying agent is increasing: ‘It’s becoming more important now than it ever has been before.’  

In 2024, Black Brick partnered with a data company to better serve clients: the firm reports that in 2024, it negotiated 10 per cent off the asking prices for properties and half of all transactions were done off-market. On the use of such data, Kain says: ‘We’re not just relying on what’s openly for sale: we’re mapping out and understanding each individual property in different areas and giving our clients more and more information.’
