Andrew Chatterton is the founder and CEO of Franklyn and a Chartered Financial Planner with specialist expertise in high-net-worth clients, particularly entrepreneurs and professional sportspeople. His reputation for outstanding advice and exceptional client service has driven Franklyn’s organic growth to what it is today.
Andrew continues to advise a select group of clients while leading Franklyn’s adviser team. With the introduction of Consumer Duty, many advisers now face challenges balancing business operations with client servicing. This opened the door for Franklyn’s acquisition strategy. The first deal completed in February 2025 in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, with two more expected later this year, extending Franklyn’s reach and first-class service across the UK. To support this growth, Andrew appointed Julie Woolmer as Chief Operating Officer. Julie has built a leadership team focused on maintaining Franklyn’s high standards as the business scales.
Franklyn Elite Sports, led by former Sale Sharks player Will Cliff, now supports over 80 elite athletes with expert financial planning. This division reflects Franklyn’s deep understanding of sport and commitment to long-term relationships. Their new podcast, Behind the Curtain, hosted by Will, shares inspiring stories and explores journeys of top sporting talent. Franklyn also engages clients and the wider community through its lifestyle magazine and Life in Sports newsletter, distinguishing it from peers.
Andrew is proud of 17 years of fundraising through the Summer Swing and Winter Waltz events, raising over £1.8 million. His commitment to giving back continues through the Franklyn Community Partner Programme, supporting local schools and community clubs in East Cheshire. Franklyn also published its first children’s book, Franklyn, No Ordinary Fox, teaching values of saving, sustainability and kindness.
