Nick Atkinson

Spear’s Review

‘I believe I am the very essence of a modern client relationship officer: proactive, adaptable and highly knowledgeable, as my annual performance and growing client base proves,’ EFG managing director Nick Atkinson tells Spear’s. A rising star in his field, Atkinson specialises in discretionary investment management and advisory services, as well as banking and credit offerings

He is proud of the high-quality private banking services EFG provides to its clients, which include access to offshore booking centres and product specialists. This variety is particularly useful in helping his entrepreneurial clients achieve their ambitions and structure their wealth in an effective way.

Atkinson aligns his offering to the company’s values, which ‘foster genuine long-term client relationships’, he says. ‘They are at the very heart of everything I do.’

Adviser Profile

Nick Atkinson is one of our consistently top performing managing directors, thanks to increasing client wallet share and continued discretionary mandate penetration. His clients are among the firm’s largest accounts and cover a diverse client base of trusts, charitable foundations, ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices, where he advises across portfolio construction, investment selection and financing.

He has 15 years’ experience in wealth management and, before moving to EFG, Nick was a director at Meridian Equity Partners, providing investment and credit solutions to UHNW individuals and families prior to its acquisition by Equity First Holdings.

Nick holds the CISI Level 6 Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice & Management and is a chartered fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. His age, track record and experience give him the ability and credibility to understand how to deal with our older, more traditional clients and also how to approach the younger, less formal next generation, who are equally important to the future growth of EFG. He is highly respected by clients and colleagues alike, a valuable asset to our business and always puts a client’s interests first.

Our company values, which are there to foster genuine client relationships, are at the very heart of everything he does. Nick leads the UK team of private bankers and their assistants at EFG and continues to be an active participant in our client journey panel. Given his focus on investment penetration of client AuM, he is highly proactive in ensuring we have the right collateral to promote our portfolio performance to clients, both in terms of reporting to those invested and information for those considering entering the market.
