Nick Cox

Spear's Review

Nick Cox, founder of Oxfordshire-based Nick Cox Architects, specialises in maintaining large historic houses and building new structures in historic contexts.

Under his leadership, his team of architects works on large-scale remodelling projects at stately homes and country houses, maintaining and adapting them to the needs of modern living without disturbing the character of the buildings. The studio has also become particularly well known for designing modern extensions and outbuildings that work together with the older sections of historic properties.

Cox has considerable experience with listed building consents, scheduled monuments and heritage impact assessments, and his work on Winchester Cathedral and Blenheim Palace's 18th-century Orangery has won several architecture awards.
