David Linley

Spear’s Review

David Linley is arguably Britain’s most prominent furniture maker.

The 2nd Earl of Snowdon launched his eponymous firm in 1985 and, due to popular demand and ‘repeated requests’ from clients, expanded the business to incorporate an interior design practice in 2007, equipped with a team of skilled architects, consultants and craftsmen. Its USP is to ‘create and fine-tune’ personalised spaces for everything from ultra-modern new-builds to country estates and Alpine chalets.

Linley resigned from his role as director of the firm in 2022 after nearly 40 years at the helm; the company is now headed by creative directors Graham Green and Michael Keech. The Earl of Snowdon continues to serve as honorary chairman at Christie’s for Europe, the Middle East, Russia and India and acts as vice-president for The King’s Foundation, where he hosts craft and furniture-making programmes from Ayrshire and Highgrove.
