After being in partnership with his father, eminent Classical architect Quinlan Terry, for two decades, Francis Terry started his own eponymous practice in 2016. 

Since then he has become a leading practitioner in new-build Classical homes for UHNW clients, focusing primarily on residential projects and collaborating closely with end users.

‘We are happy to turn our hand to more contemporary design if the brief requires it,’ he tells Spear’s. Nevertheless, his inspiration comes primarily from Classical sources such as English Georgian, Louis XV’s designs and the Italian Renaissance. He notes that he has recently undertaken the interior remodelling of the tapestry room in Yorkshire’s historic Castle Howard.

Terry has been described by Country Life magazine as ‘a leading light among the new generation of Classical architects’.
