Henrietta Spencer-Churchill

Spear’s Review

Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill is a designer, an expert on quintessential English homes and the author of several books on classical interiors, fabrics and the evolution of style.

The eldest daughter of the 11th Duke of Marlborough, she grew up in Blenheim Palace, which inspired her love for period design. She set up Woodstock Designs in 1981 to offer specialist advice on renovations that artfully combine current tech and historic architecture, before forming Spencer-Churchill Designs, producing furniture, fabrics and wallpapers. Now, her practice combines interior design with the curation of bespoke furniture, antiques and collectibles, fabrics and wallpapers, offering an end-to-end service.

A former president of the UK Chapter of the International Interior Design Association and a lecturer on design, she has taught classes at the New York School of Interior Design.
